I am not from Shamong. Can I still sign up for your program?
If your township has a recreational program for baseball for your child’s age group, then you can NOT sign up for IMAA Rec Baseball. The program’s Director & IMAA board will make the final decision based about out of town players. Please send an email to admin to be considered.
When are practices and games?
A practice/game schedule will be created after team selection. Practices and games usually start around 5:30/6 pm Monday-Friday and on Saturday mornings. Most likely there will be 2-3 games/practices a week (weather permitting).
I want my child to play in a different age group than is listed. How can I do that?
Generally, we like to keep children in their own age group, but in extenuating circumstances, you can consult with the director of the program. A player can move up an age group, but not down.
Which program should I sign my child up for?
Baseball divisions are separated by grade. Baseball divisions also have an age requirement, with the cut-off birth date (May 1st). It is highly recommended that baseball players play within their grade. In some instances, a player may be too old to play with his grade, so he may need to play with the grade above him/her. Similarly, if a player's skills are not appropriate for his/her grade, he/she may play down a grade. Grade level changes should be approved in these cases by the director.
